The fictional Fawlty Towers Hotel is probably the most famous hotel of all. The wacky Basil Fawlty and his wife Sybil managed the hotel with the joke often being on the incompetent Spanish Waiter Manuel. Recently voted as the best British TV series, the original script was actually turned down by the BBC.
The Park Plaza Hotel as it was previously known is a main feature in the film Home Alone 2. There are many scenes shot in this hotel including the credit card fraud scene where main character Kevin evades the hotel staff by sliding through their legs and into the elevator. The then owner of the Plaza, Donald Trump, makes a brief appearance in the film directing Kevin to the hotel lobby.
The Bellagio is the hotel George Clooney and his gang decide to rob in the film Ocean's Eleven. The film features both the hotels interior and exterior as well as the iconic fountains at the front of the hotel.
A large part of this movie was filmed at the Beverly Wilshere Four Seasons hotel. Now the hotel are trying to capitalise on this by offering the 'Pretty Woman' experience which includes a personal shopping consultation and a stay in the Presidential Suite.
Psycho revolutionised the film industry and is still today regarded as one of the best films of all time. The film is based around a psychotic motel owner Norman Bates. One of the most recognizable movie scenes in cinema history, the shower scene, takes place at the Bates Motel. The lead actress has since talked about the shower scene and how it has affected her so much that she can't have a shower with the curtain shut
From this film comes one of the most iconic lines in cinematic history, "heeeeere's Johnny!". Jack Nicholson utters these words while cutting through a door with an axe at the fictional Overlook Hotel. Interestingly this line was nearly cut from the film and was not actually in the script but improvised by Nicholson.
Caesars Palace staff have recently spoke about how the Hangover series has helped to elevate the hotel. Many guests ask to stay in the fictional 'Hangover Suite' while others search for the suite 2452, the room number from the movie.
This stunning hotel has been featured in many Hollywood films but arguably the most famous is 'Some Like It Hot' starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. In this movie the hotel was actually called the 'Seminole Ritz'.
This was Alfred Hitchcock's favourite hotel and the decision to use it in his legendary film Vertigo has made it an iconic hotel throughout the world. Other movies have also followed in the footsteps and filmed scenes at the Fairmont.
This is one of the most expensive hotels in Japan. In the movie 'Lost In Translation' main character Bob spends most of his time in the 'New York Bar' which is located on the hotel's top floor. The hotel offers a 'lost in translation' package for those interested in the film.
